Pastor Mike taught 8th and 9th grade Bible at a Christian school in Chesapeake, VA before entering into the radio ministry of Bible Broadcasting Network for the next 23 years establishing a radio network in Brazil, then was responsible for projects such as station upgrades and acquisitions. Pastor Mike graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a BA in Pastoral Studies then went onto complete his Masters of Ministry from Piedmont International University in 2012. Pastor Mike completed his Master of Divinity through Piedmont International University in December 2020 and his Doctor of Ministry through Shepherds Theological Seminary in April 2024.

At Tennessee Temple University, he met his future wife, Joy, who currently serves as the elementary school principal at Friendship Christian School in Raleigh. Pastor Mike and Joy have two grown children who live in Raleigh and Boston as well as three grandchildren.
